Home health aide stole $12,000 from 85-year old client

Tamara Gordon, 34, of East Haven, was arrested for second-degree larceny after she was found to have made $12,000 worth of fraudulent charges on a credit card belonging to the 85-year-old man for whom she was a part- time home healthcare aide.

In January, Wilton police were notified that the son of a resident of Ridgefield Road had discovered $12,000 worth of fraudulent charges on his elderly father’s credit card. Police were able to track those charges to Ms. Gordon, who had access to the card for specific purchases.

They determined Ms. Gordon had purchased gift cards totaling $3,500 at Stop & Shop and $6,900 at CVS. She also spent $2,500 at T.J. Maxx. These purchases were made over the course of nine months, police said.

She was arrested on a warrant and posted $25,000 bond before being released. She is due in court on Monday, Feb. 10.
