Fairfield man caught speeding with marijuana
A Fairfield man issued a summons for speeding March 24 had marijuana in his car, police said.
The northbound 2014 Toyota Corolla was stopped around 10 p.m. after police spotted it traveling 66 mph in a posted 35-mph zone on Danbury Road near Cannon Road.
The investigating officer smelled alcohol and administered a field sobriety test.
Colin J. Kelly, 25, of 74 Millspaugh Drive, performed the test to standard, and consented when officers asked for his permission to search the Toyota, police said.
The search yielded less than one-half ounce of suspected marijuana and a marijuana smoking pipe.
Kelly was issued a misdemeanor summons for speeding, possession of less than one-half ounce of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
He was released at the scene on a promise to appear at Norwalk Superior Court on April 1.
