Danbury man dies after being electrocuted on Rivergate Drive
A Danbury man died Thursday, June 9, following an incident on Rivergate Drive in Wilton, according to Wilton police, who confirmed the cause of death as electrocution. He was Marcos Silva, 44, also known as Marcos DaSilva, an employee of KTI Utility Construction of Wilton involved in replacing utility poles for Eversource Energy near 31 Rivergate Drive.
Rivergate Drive was closed for approximately five hours on Thursday as police investigated the incident. Police reported yesterday an employee of an Eversource sub-contractor was in the process of placing a pole when one of the workers on the ground went down to the ground from a standing position.
Wilton police, fire and EMS were dispatched around 12:30 and Wilton Volunteer Ambulance Corps took Silva to Norwalk Hospital, which reported Silva was unable to be resuscitated and pronounced dead. Police conducted an investigation along with OSHA and Eversource, which remains open.
