Danbury Road DUIs
Swerving left and right while southbound down Danbury Road, a New York motorist was stopped by Wilton police and found under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol on Dec. 6 around 2 in the morning.
The driver, Edvin Antonio Salazar-Miguel, 27, of 31 Oak Street, Brewster, N.Y., had a blood alcohol concentration of 0.179 and was driving without a valid driver’s license.
Salazar-Miguel was taken into custody and processed. He was charged with DUI, driving without a valid license, and failure to drive right, and was then released on a promise to appear at Norwalk Superior Court on Dec. 17.
On Dec. 3 around 8 p.m., Devang Patel, 27, of 49 Pleasant Street, Danbury, was stopped while driving his 2002 Subaru Forester northbound up Danbury Road at a speed of 62 mph in a posted 35-mph zone.
In addition to speeding, Patel was swerving back and forth between Danbury Road’s two northbound lanes.
He was found to be under the influence of alcohol and/ or drugs by police, with a blood alcohol concentration of 0.064, and a small amount of marijuana was recovered and seized from his car.
Charged with DUI, traveling unreasonably fast, operating with a suspended license, failure to return that license, failure to drive in the proper lane, and possession of less than one-half ounce of marijuana, Patel was released on a promise to appear at Norwalk Superior Court on Dec. 14.
Around 2 in the morning that day, another Danbury Road motorist was charged with DUI.
Michael R. Warchick, 50, of 43 Prospect Street, Norwalk, was stopped for driving with his vehicle’s high beams on behind another car. He was also straddling the southbound lane dividing line.
A standardized field sobriety test was conducted, which Warchick did not perform to standard. His blood alcohol concentration was recorded at 0.27.
Warchick was charged with DUI and improper use of high beams. He was released on a promise to appear at Norwalk Superior Court on Dec. 14.
