Child porn case in court Jan. 16

The next pre-trial activity for a case involving a Wilton preschool paraprofessional charged with possession of child pornography is set for Friday, Jan. 16 in the Fairfield Judicial District, which convenes in the Bridgeport Superior Courthouse.

Eric Von Kohorn, a former Wilton preschool paraprofessional, has been free on $50,000 bond since he was arrested on Aug. 20, 2014 on a warrant for first-degree illegal possession of child pornography and promotion of a minor in an obscene performance.

Both charges are class-B felonies, which carry possible punishments of one to 20 years in prison, each.

Repeated calls to Mr. Von Kohorn’s attorney regarding the pre-trial court date were not returned by the time of publication.

The preschool paraprofessional had been under investigation since at least April 2014. State police alerted Wilton schools of the investigation on June 11, 2014, when Mr. Von Kohorn was escorted from school grounds.

He was arrested after an investigation by the Connecticut State Police Computer Crimes Investigations team, which commands the state Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.

The computer division was assisted by the State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigations and United States Homeland Security.
