Wilton police held a Norwalk man on Dec. 22 after a traffic stop revealed he was wanted by the Bridgeport Police Department.
Alan Jesus Baez, 23, of 80 Spring Hill Avenue, Norwalk, was driving his 1992 Mazda Protege down Route 7 near School Road with a registration plate displayed in the rear window of the car.
Driving behind the Mazda, a Wilton officer was unable to read the plate and initiated a stop. Investigation revealed that Baez had warrants out of Bridgeport for third-degree assault and unlawful restraint.
He was taken into custody and held at Wilton police headquarters until officers from Bridgeport arrived to pick him up.
The Wilton Police Department issued Baez a summons for failing to properly display a vehicle registration plate.
