Arrest made for sexual assault at Wilton rehab facility

A certified nursing assistant at Wilton Meadows was arrested on Nov. 17 by Wilton police for having inappropriate contact with an 82-year-old female patient.

Hunter Scott McGinty, 26, of 2 Mountainview Terrace in Danbury, was charged with several counts of sexual assault for this incident and others police discovered during their investigation.

Police received a complaint from Wilton Meadows Rehabilitation & Health Care Center, 439 Danbury Road, on Monday, Nov. 14, concerning an incident between McGinty and the 82-year-old patient. During their investigation, police learned McGinty inappropriately touched the woman during the course of his duties. The incident was immeditately reported by another nursing assistant and the administrative staff contacted the police. Wilton Meadows staff cooperated fully with their investigation, police said.

Police said their investigation identified a second woman, 66, who was assaulted at Wilton Meadows during August and September.

As a result, McGinty was arrested for sexual assault in the fourth degree for the incident on Nov. 14, and three counts of sexual assault in the second degree for the other incidents. He was held in lieu of $32,500 cash bond and was due in court for arraignment on Nov. 17.
