Lenore Eggleston Herbst of Wilton has been named executive director of Woodcock Nature Center. She succeeds Mike Rubbo, who has accepted a teaching position in the Department of Environmental Studies and Science at Pace University. Rubbo will continue with the nature center as science adviser on the newly formed Advisory Committee at Woodcock. Thus far the committee also includes Dr. Raina Schunk from South Wilton Veterinary Group.
Eggleston Herbst comes to Woodcock with more than 20 years of nonprofit management experience. She plans to focus on strategic planning and programming as well as fundraising, marketing and community outreach. For the past 12 years she has been director of marketing and development for the Westchester Philharmonic in Westchester County.
