Riverdance performer to teach Irish dance at Trackside

Students in Wilton will have the opportunity to learn Irish dance at Trackside Teen Center with Riverdance cast member, Meghan Lucey. After graduating from Wilton High School in 2007, she has forged a career in Irish dance as a member of Riverdance, Celtic Fyre, and as a dancer for the Emmy Award-winning Irish band Cherish the Ladies. Lucey has made several TV appearances including Riverdance: On Ice in 2011, America’s Got Talent with the Irish dance/hip hop crew Hammerstep in 2013, and a recent performance with Riverdance on The Late Late Show with James Corden.

A certified Irish dance teacher with An Coimisiun Le Rinci Gaelacha in Dublin, Ireland, Lucey is ready to bring Irish dance to Trackside. Students will not be expected to purchase special dance shoes or dance costumes. Auditions and previous Irish dance experience will not be required.

Irish Dance at Trackside is open to all Wilton students in grades 6 through 12. Classes meet on Wednesdays from Oct. 21 to Dec. 16 from 3:30 to 5. The class fee is $200. Visit trackside.org/classes to register.
