Jay Manuel has Wilton home troubles

The gossip website perezhilton.com is reporting celebrity Jay Manuel, a fashion and beauty expert and former America’s Next Top Model star, had to leave his Wilton home due to construction defects.

The site says Mr. Manuel had to leave his 7,000-square-foot home in February when water condensation severely damaged the exterior walls. As a result, he has filed a lawsuit against Eric and Magdalena Kotonski of EK Construction, on Sturges Ridge Road, the site says.

Mr. Manuel purchased the home in 2011 for $2.6 million.

According to information from the Connecticut Superior Court, Mr. Manuel filed suit in May 2014 citing numerous major “construction deficiencies” and violation of the Connecticut Unfair Trade Practices Act.

The suit is still pending.

The home, which Mr. Manuel reportedly is rebuilding, was featured on NBC’s Designer Living. The segment may be viewed at http://www.bing.com/videos/watch/video/designer-living-at-home-with-jay-manuel/1d2v1up3w.
