Hess will hike for cancer research
Wilton resident and Miller-Driscoll preschool coordinator Bernadette Hess will take part in a three-day Grand Canyon hike, May 4-7, to benefit multiple myeloma research and also honor her mother, who was diagnosed with the incurable blood cancer in 2007.
The Conquer the Canyon® Grand Canyon Hike is one of several Moving Mountains for Multiple Myeloma events, sponsored by the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation, CURE Magazine, and Takeda Oncology.
As one of 14 Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation hikers selected to form the Grand Canyon team — comprised of patients, caregivers, doctors, clinicians, nurses and others connected to multiple myeloma — Hess will hike into the Grand Canyon via the Bright Angel Trail from the southern rim.
The fund-raising goal for the trek is $80,000. As of April 12, $67,728 had been raised — $6,720 by Hess. Click here to donate.
