Over the first weekend of July, visually impaired Navy veteran Brad Snyder qualified to represent Team USA in the Rio Paralympic games with the help of his Fidelco guide dog Gizzy.
Snyder swam in high school and was captain of the U.S. Naval Academy’s swim team. After graduating from the academy, he became a lieutenant in the Navy and served in Afghanistan as an explosive ordnance disposal officer. In 2011, Snyder lost his sight from an IED explosion.
