Wilton resident Amy Jeffereis was recently named a recipient of the Family Champion Award, presented by the Connecticut Council of Family Services Agencies.

Ms. Jeffereis was presented with the award last month at the annual Family Service Agencies recognition ceremony at the Trumbull Marriott.

In an email from Jennifer Barahona, director of Youth Development for FCA, she said, “The purpose of the Celebration of Family Champions program is to promote the mission of the Council through recognition of the efforts and dedication of one non-management staff member and one volunteer board member from each Council member agency.

“In each of our agencies, there are non-management staff who are ‘heroes’ or ‘champions’ who work with perseverance and thoughtfulness in their areas of responsibility to strengthen families.”

Ms. Jeffereis has been with FCA for seven years. She was a volunteer before joining the staff. She has been instrumental in the transformation of the after-school and summer programs.
