The Wilton Conservation Commission nominated Brett Amero for the Deer Committee during its Nov. 7 meeting. His nomination now has to be considered by the Board of Selectmen.

Amero is an AP Environmental Science teacher at Wilton High School, who used to hunt years ago, according to the Conservation Commission’s meeting minutes.

He told the commission that “having the experience of the municipal process and environmental benefits of the hunt will allow him to bring that knowledge to the classroom, which will be invaluable for his students,” according to the meeting minutes.
