Following the marathon bombing last year that left over 250 people injured and three dead, there will be increased security at this year's race, including:

  • 3,500 police officers, some of which will be undercover, specially trained officers.
  • At least 100 video cameras monitoring the crowd.
  • Prohibition of "marathon bandits" or unregistered runners.

According to the National Weather Service, today's weather forecast for Boston is sunny with a high near 62 degrees, with southwest wind of 6-11 mph becoming southeast in the afternoon.
