Wilton High School Principal Bob O'Donnell announced at the Board of Education's Dec. 6 meeting that a proposal he and Superintendent Kevin Smith have been working on to change the high school's bell schedule next fall will be completed by Friday, Dec. 14. "We're going to share the draft schedule that we put together that afternoon ... with the faculty ... to solicit any feedback," said O'Donnell. "We also want to glean some student feedback." In a Nov. 20 letter to students and families, O'Donnell announced that school-based bell schedule committees had been exploring different bell schedules that would "best support student learning and high quality teaching." He also said that faculty members had agreed that alternating block schedule should be designed and adopted with classes meeting "every other day for longer periods of time." O'Donnell told the school board that support from parents has been "very strong."
