Wiltonian Caroline Boudreau, a sophomore psychology major at Colgate University in Hamilton, N.Y., has been named a 2015 Newman Civic Fellow for her work to help children overcome educational disadvantages, poverty and mental illness.
Newman Civic Fellows are nominated by college and university presidents to represent the next generation of civic leaders.
“Caroline is steadfast in her determination to make a difference in the lives of those who struggle to overcome a wide variety of barriers to achievement,” said Jeffrey Herbst, president of Colgate University.
“Her contributions on Colgate’s campus are undoubtedly a small glimpse into the great things she will accomplish in her professional career.”
A total of 205 college students from 36 states and Washington, D.C. were named Newman Civic Fellows this year.
