Wiltonian completes Marine Corps boot camp

Pvt. Joseph S. Cullinan graduated from the United States Marine Corps boot camp at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot in Parris Island, S.C., on Friday, Nov. 21.

He successfully completed 13 weeks of intensive basic training as one of 90 recruits in Training Platoon 2089. Among the six male recruit training platoons, Platoon 2089 earned the distinction of Honor Platoon for having the highest composite scores in physical fitness, combat fitness, academics, marksmanship and drill.

While in recruit training, Pvt. Cullinan achieved the highest marksmanship qualification of Rifle Expert. Following 10 days home on leave, he will report to Marine Corps Base Camp LeJune in Jacksonville, N.C., for two months at Infantry Training Battalion.
