Wilton schools will dismiss early today, Planning and Zoning canceled

Wilton public schools will dismiss early today, Feb. 8.

Wilton High, Middlebrook and Our Lady of Fatima will dismiss at 10:30, Cider Mill at 11:30 and Miller-Driscoll at 12:30.

Many area schools are doing the same with a winter weather advisory in effect until 6 p.m. today. Snow totals have been downgraded slightly since the advisory was posted yesterday to expected accumulation of two to four inches.

All after-school activities are canceled.

Wilton Continuing Education Enrichment classes/activities are canceled and will be rescheduled.

At the Riverbrook Regional YMCA in Wilton: Neighborhood Club, Child Watch and Student Union are canceled. Nursery school closes at 11 and extended day/lunch bunch is canceled. A decision on afternoon classes (including Babysitting and classes held at the gymnastics center) will be made by noon.

This afternoon’s Comstock Building Committee is canceled as is the  Planning and Zoning Commission meeting that was scheduled for 7:15.

As of 11:30 a.m., the following meetings were expected to take place:

Parks and Recreation Commission at 7:30

Board of Selectmen Budget Workshop at 7:30

Wilton Library is expected to open as scheduled.
