Wilton cheerleaders appear in Jesse Eisenberg movie

Wilton High School sophomores Logan Morris and Whitney Pagano will appear alongside their fellow Xtreme Cheer Connecticut cheerleaders in a movie with award-winning actor Jesse Eisenberg, known for his role in movies like The Social Network and Zombieland.

Xtreme Cheer, a Norwalk-based competitive cheer program, was selected to bring some of its premier high school athletes to do what they do best — stunt, tumble and dance — for the new movie, Louder Than Bombs, directed by Joachim Trier.

The film producers selected Xtreme Cheer for its reputation as one of the top all-star cheer programs in the country. Last year, the team placed seventh in the country at The Summit competition, the pinnacle of All Star Cheerleading Championship.

According to news, information and networking site Indiewire, Louder Than Bombs revolves around “a late war photographer ... whose husband and two sons discover a secret about her past as a retrospective of her work is being put together.”

On Sept. 26, the cheerleaders spent the day shooting scenes for the upcoming movie, which also stars Golden Globe winner Gabriel Byrne, BAFTA Film Award winner Isabelle Huppert, primetime Emmy winner David Strathairn, and Critics’ Choice Award winner Amy Ryan.

Louder Than Bombs is scheduled for release next year.
