Wilton High School freshman Andrew Travers collected 40 pounds of Halloween candy which has been donated to a number of charities. Andrew collected the candy from fellow students as a ‘buy back’ program through Dental Associates in Newtown, where the program is in its 14th year. The candy is being donated to Operation Gratitude, a nonprofit organization whose mission is to ship care packages to troops overseas; Give Kids the World, an organization that assists children with life-threatening diseases and their families; The Women’s Center of Greater Danbury; and Yale-New Haven’s Children’s Hospital. Neither Andrew nor Wilton High School took any funds back from the program.
