Wilton Public Schools has a new human resources and general administration director, Susan Paley. Superintendent Gary Richards said he worked with Dr. Kevin Smith, Wilton\u2019s future superintendent, to find someone to fill the position. At the Board of Education\u2019s April 10 meeting, Dr. Richards officially recommended Ms. Paley. \u201cWe\u2019ve had an extensive search for a permanent person for this position and Susan Paley emerged from the 20 applicants,\u201d Dr. Richards told the board. Ms. Paley told the Board of Education the district\u2019s interview team did \u201ca phenomenal job.\u201d \u201cIt was an extremely challenging interview process that I went through,\u201d she said, \u201cand it\u2019s really a pleasure to be recommended.\u201d The Board of Education unanimously accepted Dr. Richards\u2019 recommendation and welcomed Ms. Paley to Wilton. For the past 17 years Ms. Paley has worked for Stamford public schools, where she was most recently an assistant human resources director. Prior to that, she taught fifth and sixth grade math and science, as well as fifth grade social studies. Ms. Paley was also coordinator of the General Electric College Bound District Program and served as a teacher-partner of a $15.3-million five-year grant. Ms. Paley has a bachelor of science degree in international relations, as well as a master of science degree in education from SUNY New Paltz. Ms. Paley also holds a master\u2019s in business administration concentrated in finance and marketing from the University of Connecticut, and a six-year certificate in education administration from the University of Bridgeport. \u201cShe combines a deep educational career with significant corporate, private experience,\u201d said Dr. Richards. Ms. Paley\u2019s new position as human resources and general administration director goes into effect July 1.
