Students perform with All-State Choir

Wilton High School senior Chase Smith and sophomore Griffin King performed at the 2014 Connecticut Music Educators Association (CMEA) All-State Music Festival Saturday, April 5.

The festival is an annual event for Connecticut high school music students.

Before the concert at Hartford’s Bushnell Theatre, Chase and Griffin rehearsed for two days in Cromwell with some of the state’s best musicians in orchestra, band, jazz band and choir.

Chase and Griffin performed with the All-State Choir, conducted by Dr. Brad Homes of Millikin University in Decatur, Ill.

In order to be accepted into the festival, students had to audition for and perform in the January Connecticut Western Regional Festival.

The top singers were then selected in a second round of auditions in February.
