Parent Advisory Board hosts night for parents of special needs students

Parents of students with special needs are invited to the Special Services Parent Advisory Board (PAB)'s Parent's Night Out at Wilton Library tomorrow, Sept. 18.

The 6:30 p.m. event will allow parents to meet others with children receiving services in Wilton's public schools. There will also be drinks and homemade hors d'oeuvres and news of upcoming PAB events.

The PAB is comprised of parents of children receiving special services in Wilton, PTA special education representatives, school administrators and Wilton Special Services. According to its website, the board strives to:

  • Help parents understand the special education process and communicate more effectively with their teacher and teams.

  • Improve communication, education and trust among parents of children with special needs and Wilton Public Schools' staff and administration.

  • Improve the level of understanding of children with special needs and the services they receive within Wilton's schools and our community.
