PGP 2014: Live from New York, it's Graduation Night!

After weeks of searching for clues to figure out this year's Post Graduation Party (PGP) theme, the 2014 PGP Committee finally revealed the "Live from New York, it's Graduation Night" theme to Wilton High School seniors.

Clues for this year’s party were posted on the PGP 2014's Twitter and Facebook pages on May 15. Since then, participating seniors guessed where the numerical clues were from and then visited the locations to pick up more clues.

Before receiving the final clue during the Wilton High School Senior Picnic on Tuesday, June 3, the first 11 clues were put into their correct order and students were asked to guess the theme.

"Many creative guesses came in, including one response that added all of the numbers together to equal a total that signified a secret society at Yale — not the answer — but later that day, a hand written matrix came in that correctly guessed the theme," said Maura Connolly, PGP 2014 Committee member.

Ms. Connolly said once students were given a second clue, the responses came flooding in.

The 2014 PGP Committee invites the public to a walk-through to see a transformed Middlebrook on Saturday, June 21, from 2-4 and 6-8.  Visitors are asked to bring a donation for the Wilton Food Pantry, which is in need of paper products and personal care items including shampoo, soap, sunscreen, toothpaste and toothbrushes.

The PGP is a culmination of a five-and-a-half-year Wilton Class Project, designed to bring parents together and provide safe, substance-free, student-driven activities. Parents who join the PGP Committee begin fundraising when their children are in the seventh grade.

The alcohol- and drug-free event is run entirely by volunteer parents from the 2014 class, who have been working on the planning and execution of the party since last year.

"Through parent and student gatherings and sales of Wilton-themed items, the class has raised the money to convert Middlebrook School into a dream space for one night for the graduates to come together and celebrate their years together," said Ms. Connolly.

The 2014 PGP will take place at Middlebrook School on Saturday, June 21, at 10 p.m.
