Miller-Driscoll renovation update meeting on Oct. 14

The Miller-Driscoll Building Committee and representatives from Turner Construction and Tai Soo Kim will provide an update on the status of Miller-Driscoll School’s $50-million renovation project on Wednesday, Oct. 14, at 7 p.m.
“The purpose of the meeting is to give [members of the public] information about the construction that will be taking place at Miller-Driscoll and to answer their questions, Karen Birck, co-chair of the building committee, told The Bulletin.
The meeting will take place in Miller-Driscoll’s gym on the south side of the building.

According to a Sept. 9 letter Principal Cheryl Jensen-Gerner sent out to Miller-Driscoll families and neighbors, the temporary classrooms are “being readied for students and teachers to move into after the December break.”
The modular buildings, provided by ModSpace, will be used as classrooms at the primary school on Wolfpit Road. According to senior architect Randall Luther, of Tai Soo Kim, the classrooms will be fully enclosed with corridors connected to the exit doors.
In mid-November, the letter states, there will be an open house of the portable classrooms for the families and students who will occupy them.
The school renovation is expected to be complete in 2018.
The Miller-Driscoll renovation informational meeting will be open to all residents.
