Huot named interim financial director of Wilton schools

The Wilton Public School District has hired Richard “Dick” Huot to serve as interim financial director following the June 30 resignation of former financial director Ken Post.

Huot, who began his new position on July 1, came to Wilton from the Hebron Public School District in Tolland County, where he served as finance and operations director for a little more than two years.

Throughout his school finance career, Huot has served a number of Connecticut school districts, including those in Watertown, East Hartford, Wethersfield, Manchester, Bridgeport and Darien, where he served until he retired in 2013.

Huot was president of the Connecticut Association of School Business Officials (CASBO) from 1987 to 1988, and authored a major CASBO study of municipal and school district operations.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in education from Fitchburg State College, a master’s degree in education from the University of Connecticut, and a master of business administration and a sixth-year advanced degree in educational administration from the University of Hartford.
