High school sophomore gets accepted to college

While most 10th graders have two more years before going to college, Wilton resident and Easton Country Day School student Benjamin Steiz has already been accepted to Bard College at Simon’s Rock.

Benjamin’s academic and personal achievements secured him a spot at Simon’s Rock this fall. Bard College at Simon’s Rock’s Early College in Great Barrington, Mass., is the nation’s only liberal arts and science college designed for high school age students.

“Simon’s Rock receives a number of impressive applications every year,” said Simon’s Rock Admissions Director Chandra Joos deKoven.

“After a thorough and holistic review, Benjamin’s readiness to engage in a highly rigorous college curriculum, potential for academic and personal success and ability to enrich our campus community were evident in  his application.”

The Simon’s Rock campus is home to more than 400 bright and highly motivated students who are on track to graduate from college one or two years ahead of their peers.

Simon’s Rock offers a challenging program in the liberal arts and sciences, “taught exclusively in small seminars by a supportive, highly-trained faculty,” according to the school’s website. The school grants degrees in more than 40 majors.
