Davidson College honors Wilton High School alumna

Sarah Gustafson, valedictorian of Wilton High’s 2010 class, graduated summa cum laude with high honors in history from Davidson College in Davidson, N.C., on May 18.

Sarah, a history major and French minor, is one of four Davidson College students to graduate this year with the annual distinction of First Honor, which is awarded to students who earn the highest cumulative grade-point average over four years.

She and her three classmates have made Davidson College history in that this is the first time in the institution’s history that multiple students graduated cum laude with perfect 4.0-grade point averages.

Sarah attended Davidson as a John Montgomery Belk Scholar, the recipient of Davidson College’s flagship full tuition, room, board and stipend merit scholarship.

Prior to attending Davidson, Sarah was selected by the United States Department of Education to be a 2010 United State Presidential Scholar.

Sarah will pursue her master’s degree in history of political thought and intellectual history at the University College London and Queen Mary University of London.
