Continuing Ed offers Chakradance

Audra Mace, owner of Lady Chakra Holistic Healing in Bethel, will lead Wilton Continuing Education’s new Introduction to Chakradance: 7 Keys to Freedom Cycle class Wednesday, Feb. 21, from 5 to 6, in the Wilton High School Zellner Gallery.

Mace said her class will be “a wonderful prelude to Chakradance, providing participants a feel for this practice before deciding to commit to a whole cycle in greater depth.”

Chakradance is a well-being movement practice that involves spontaneous dance to carefully composed music for the purpose of helping individuals heal and re-tune their energy systems, discover body-mind-spirit connections, and re-balance their chakras.

Chakras are “energy centers within the human body that help to regulate all its processes, from organ function to the immune system and emotions,” according to

“You have seven major chakras and each one influences an aspect of your life — from your instincts, sexuality and personal power through to how you love, communicate, use your intuition and connect to your deepest source of spirituality,” said Mace.

“The role of the chakra system is to help regulate the human energy field, commonly known as the aura. The aura is a dynamic, energetic matrix, which includes the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual aspects of our being.”

Mace said people should sign up for the class “if they want to feel good.”

“There is an opportunity here for simultaneous physical, emotional and spiritual release,” said Mace. “The practice is entirely customized and there is no right way and no wrong way to do this. In a serendipitous way, the experience continues beyond class, whereby personal situations present themselves that need to be addressed.”

There is a $10 fee and each participant is asked to bring a cushion.
