The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for Monday, Feb. 8, from 3 a.m. to 6 p.m., with the morning commute expected to be particularly hazardous. The advisory covers Fairfield and New Haven counties. Three to five inches of snow is expected, compounded by winds from the northeast of 10 to 15 mph. Visibility could be reduced to one-half mile at times. The greatest chance of snow is between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Temperatures will fall throughout the day to about 27 degrees by 5 p.m. Snow will continue early Tuesday, mainly after 3 a.m., with another one to two inches possible. Periods of light snow are forecast for Tuesday, with a high near 32, although the wind chill will make it feel between 10 and 20 degrees. Another inch of snow is possible Tuesday night, continuing Wednesday into Wednesday night. Thursday will be mostly cloudy, but the chance of light snow remains.
