Wilton storm closings, postponements, openings

Here’s a list of events, programs, businesses and organizations that are closing or altering plans Monday and Tuesday, Jan. 26 and 27, because of a blizzard. Wilton Public Schools will dismiss early today, Jan. 26, and will be closed on Tuesday.

Community conversation with the Board of Education has been canceled.

• Wilton High School is one of the numerous FCIAC schools which have postponed all games for Monday and Tuesday and cancelled practices as well. Make-up dates for Monday’s and Tuesday’s games will be announced later this week.


• Tonight's Planning & Zoning meeting has been canceled.

• Tomorrow's Board of Finance meeting has been canceled and rescheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 3.

• The Wilton League of Women Voters meeting on Wednesday, Jan. 28, is canceled.

Businesses and other organizations

Wilton town offices close at 2:30 today.

The Wilton Family YMCA announced Neighborhood Club, Child Watch and Student Union are canceled. Nursery school closes at 11 and extended day/lunch bunch is canceled. A decision on afternoon classes (including Babysitting and classes held at the gymnastics center) will be made by noon Monday.

All afternoon classes at the Y are canceled. The Y plans on staying open until 5, but may close sooner.

The Wilton Y is closed Tuesday, Jan. 27.

Open House in Wilton Center is open today, but says it will close Tuesday if the storm is as bad as predicted.

Village Market in Wilton Center will be closed Tuesday and may be delayed in opening on Wednesday.

Metro-North will run extra afternoon train service between 1 and 5 p.m.

• Wilton Senior Center has canceled all activities for Monday afternoon, and all day Tuesday and Wednesday, Jan. 27-28..

• Super Stop & Shop will close at its regular 9 p.m. time today and expects to open tomorrow.

• Caraluzzi's Georgetown Market does not expect to close early today, Jan. 26. It is open today, Jan. 27.is open. and tomorrow's hours of operation will depend on road conditions and whether or not a state of emergency is declared.

Wilton Library will close at 2 on Monday and will be closed all day on Tuesday, Jan. 27. On Wednesday, Jan. 28, check wiltonlibrary.org or call 203-762-3950 for opening hours.

The Wilton Transfer Station closed at 1 Monday and will be closed on Tuesday, Jan. 27.

Woodcock Nature Center offices are closed "for the next few days."

Norwalk Hospital closings: OP Psychiatric Clinic closed as of noon Monday and all day Tuesday, Jan. 27. Will reopen Wednesday, Jan. 28, at noon. Occupational Health and Rehabilitation Services will close at 2 Monday and reopen Wednesday at noon.

Also closed from 5 p.m. Monday and all day Tuesday are:
  • Norwalk Hospital Physicians and Surgeons
  • Norwalk Hospital Radiology Services
  • Norwalk Hospital Lab Draw Stations

• Norwalk Transit's last 7 Link bus going to Danbury will leave Norwalk at 5 p.m., Monday.

Chase Bank will be closed Tuesday.

Bank of America is "temporarily closed due to inclement weather."

Fairfield County Bank will be closed Tuesday.

• Bankwell Wilton will be closed Tuesday.

• Webster Bank will be closed Tuesday.
