Wilton roads start to deteriorate

Update: 12:10 p.m. — The Wilton YMCA will remain open, but all classes are canceled.

Wilton Fire Chief Ronald Kanterman says the town's Emergency Operations Center will not open today since the forecast shows less snow accumulation than previously reported. To Wiltonians, he said, "Easy does it on the roads and safe travels!"

Power outages remain minimal. There is one reported in Wilton and 27 in Weston. That's it for the immediate area.

Metro-North offered substitute bus service on the 12:03 on the Danbury branch departing South Norwalk, making all stops to Danbury.

11:20 a.m. — Road conditions in Wilton are rapidly deteriorating, particularly side roads, Bulletin reporter Christopher Burns says. Roads in town are “very, very slippery.” Snow is expected to continue throughout the day.

Wilton Library will close at 3 today.

CL&P reports no power outages as of yet.

The Wilton YMCA canceled morning and noon classes at the Gymnastics Center, Nursery School, Neighborhood Club, Child Watch and Student Union. A decision on afternoon classes and babysitting will be made by noon. All group fitness classes after 5:30 are not running due to the Thanksgiving schedule.

Metro-North offered substitute bus service on the Danbury branch for the 10:43 train departing South Norwalk making all stops to Danbury. No word yet on any further substitutions.
