Threat of snow brings program changes

The threat of snow later today is causing schools to be dismissed early Friday, March 20, and program changes at the Wilton YMCA.

Schools will dismiss early:

10:30 for Wilton High School and Middlebrook

11:30 for Cider Mill

12:30 for Miller-Driscoll.

At the Wilton Family Y, the Neighborhood Club, Child Watch and Student Union are canceled. Nursery school closes at 11 and extended day/lunch bunch is canceled. A decision on afternoon classes, including Babysitting and classes held at the gymnastics center, will be made by noon.

Intermediate Bridge with Dan at 1:30 at the Wilton Senior Center has been canceled. All other events will proceed as usual.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for Friday through 2 a.m. Saturday, March 21. Snow is expected to begin late this morning or early afternoon and could cause hazardous travel conditions. From one to three inches is possible with a high around 30 degrees.

Another one to three inches is possible tonight, mainly before midnight, with a low around 24.

Saturday will be cloudy with a high around 43, although wind chill values will be between 25 and 35. Sunday will be sunny but unseasonably cold with a high only around 35.
