SWRMPO will review Department of Transportation's five-year plan

The South Western Region Metropolitan Planning Organization (SWRMPO) will meet on Thursday, March 27, to discuss the state Department of Transportation’s  five year capital plan, Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) amendments and  matters related to the consolidation of the Housatonic and South Western regions.

The meeting will be held at the Norwalk Transit District, and will begin promptly at 8:15 a.m. The agenda is available at swrpa.org and the meeting is open to the public.

The SWRMPO is comprised of the chief elected officials of the South Western Region’s eight towns of Darien, Greenwich, New Canaan, Norwalk, Stamford, Weston, Westport and Wilton, and the directors of the region’s transit districts. As mandated by federal regulations, the SWRMPO is responsible for transportation policy development, planning, and programming of federal transportation funding for the region.
