Snow total amounts continue to increase around Connecticut as the night goes on, based on state Department of Transportation (DOT) figures.
The DOT releases snow total amounts every few hours. Here are some of the figures from the DOT report based on inspections.
The amounts are expected to increase more in the coming hours. Towns in bold are the ones closest to Willton:
New Canaan — 10 inches; 11.25 inches
Darien — 5.75 inches; 7,5 inches
Meriden — 8.5 inches; 12 inches
Wethersfield — 8.5 inches; 12 inches
Haddam — 8 inches; 14.5 inches
Old Saybrook — 7.5 inches; 15.5 inches
Union — 7.25; 12.25 inches
Groton — 7 inches; 15 inches
Norwich — 6.5 inches; 16 inches
Mansfield — 6.5; 16 inches
Milford — 6 inches; 9 inches
Beacon Falls — 4.5 inches; 6.5 inches
East Granby — 4.5 inches; 6 inches
Litchfield — 4 inches; 5.5 inches
New Haven — 4 inches; 7 inches
Thomaston — 4 inches; 5.5 inches
Waterbury — 4 inches; 4.75 inches
Avon — 3.5 inches; 8 inches
Southbury — 3.5 inches; 4.5 inches
Danbury — 3 inches; 5 inches
North Canaan — 0.75 inches; 3.5 inches
Putnam — 6.25 inches; 20 inches
The blizzard warning has been downgraded to a winter storm warning, in effect until midnight Tuesday.
