The Board of Selectmen approved during its July 10 meeting a license agreement allowing Wilton Deli owner Matt Francia to place picnic tables on town land adjacent to his 379 Danbury Road business.
After Francia contacted the town about a possible easement for natural gas, First Selectman Lynne Vanderslice said, “it was discovered that the picnic tables, that had been there for years, were actually on town property and not on [his] property.”
After meeting with Francia, Town Attorney Ira Bloom drew up the agreement, giving him permission to place the tables on the land.
“We don’t have an objection to the picnic tables being there,” said Vanderslice, “but wanted a license agreement to ensure the town is covered should something occur.”
