Wiltonian Andrea Topalian will receive the Platinum Photographer of the Year award from the Professional Photographers of America (PPA) 2015 International Photographic Competition.
Her work will be on display in the International Photographic Exhibition Jan. 10-12. at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta, Ga., where she will receive her award during the annual award ceremony.
Three of Topalian’s four photographs — Picasso’s Protégé, Evening Rehearsal for Summer State and Middle Child Syndrome — were accepted into the PPA’s Loan Collection, the association’s compilation of photographs that a press release calls “the best of the best.” The other photograph, Summer Dreams, was accepted into the General Collection.
In a statement, Topalian said, “It’s an honor when one image is accepted, much less all four with three at the highest level.”
The PPA is the largest international nonprofit association of professional photographers that has roots dating back to 1869, the press release said.
