Snuggle Bear shares the 'snugs'

Snuggle Bear was in Wilton Thursday with a brand new ride — the SnugMobile — in preparation for a trip to New York City where the iconic symbol of softness will attempt to break the Guinness World Records record for most hugs by a puppet. On the day before Valentine’s Day Snuggle hopes to hug 5,000 fans in the SnugMobile, each of whom can take a selfie and receive a souvenir plush Snuggle Bear.

Snuggle and the SnugMobile were at Sun Products, which is headquartered at 60 Danbury Road in Wilton. Snuggle’s visit comes just as the brand is launching a new pink variant of Snuggle Liquid Fabric Softener and Dryer Sheets, Fresh Spring Flowers.

Snuggle’s mission “is to make the world a softer place,” and the campaign for hugs — which the Snuggle people refer to as “snugs” — began in January with Hug Day.

Also in time for Valentine’s Day, the company is launching the Snuggle Valentine Video Card, available on share.snuggle.com. It allows people to choose from more than 400 names spoken by Snuggle Bear and five different video messages shareable on Facebook, Twitter, email and accessible via desktop and mobile platforms.

The SnugMobile is a custom bus outfitted in plush fabrics and decorated with clouds and conversation hearts that deliver messages like “Share A Snug” and “Free Snugs.” It will be parked at Columbus Circle and Times Square on Friday, Feb. 13. Snuggle fans can keep track of Snuggle’s progress on Facebook (Facebook/SnuggleBear), Twitter (@snuggle_bear) and Instagram.
