The Chamber of Commerce has announced the return of the popular scarecrow festival this fall in Wilton Center.

In cooperation with Trackside Teen Center, the town, Parks and Recreation and Department of Public Works, the festival will run from Oct. 19 through Oct. 31.

Scarecrow kits may be purchased from the Chamber of Commerce office at 86 Old Ridgefield Road or on the chamber website at wiltonchamber.com. For a purchase form to be emailed, call 203-762-0567 or email info@wiltonchamber.com.

Kits cost $35 and include the wooden post frame and hay to build the scarecrow.

Registration and payment must be received by the Chamber by Sept. 29. Kits must be picked up Oct. 4-5, between 10 and 4, at Trackside, 15 Station Road.

Finished scarecrows must be delivered to Trackside on Oct. 16 or 17 only, from 10 to 4. The scarecrows will be put up in the center of town on Friday, Oct. 19, where they will remain through Oct. 31, in place for the Chamber’s Halloween walk and trick or treat parade, Halloween Hustle 5K and Scarecrow Scamper for kids, scheduled for Oct. 28 and 29.

There will also be a town Scarecrow Scavenger Hunt on Saturday, Oct. 20, with details to be forthcoming.
