Wilton letter carriers will be leaving paper grocery bags in mailboxes along their route this week in preparation for their annual food drive on Saturday, May 14.
This event, which takes place each year on the second Saturday of May, is sponsored by the National Association of Letter Carriers (NALC). Locally it will benefit Person-to-Person of Norwalk. Person-to-Person is a community-supported agency that provides emergency assistance for basic needs, and support for individuals and families in southern Fairfield County, including Wilton.

Residents are asked to leave non-perishable items in the bag provided, and the carriers will pick up the bags during the course of their deliveries on May 14. In addition, there will be a hamper set up in the lobby of the post office at 15 Hubbard Road so people may drop their items there as well.

Any questions may be directed to Alan Horowitz, food drive coordinator, at 203-241-2265. For information on Person-to-Person, visit p2phelps.org.
