Pinocchio Pizza offers ‘A Slice for the Cure’
Resident master pizza maker Bruno DiFabio and the American Cancer Society have partnered to launch “A Slice for the Cure” on Tuesday, June 25, at Pinocchio Pizza, 1 Center Street in Wilton. One hundred percent of sales from the all-day event will benefit cancer research. The benefit will run from noon through 10 p.m.
He will debut his award-winning Pulled Pork Pizza made with smoked pork, mozzarella, onion, bacon and barbecue sauce.
Mr. DiFabio will also spin his legendary Brunello Pizza, winner of the World Pizza Championship in Salsomaggiore, Itay. The pie features double-rise Sicilian crust, green olives, salami picante, sun-dried tomatoes, hand-crushed San Marzano tomatoes as well as burrata and mozzarella cheeses.
Mr. DiFabio owns 10 pizzerias around the country, is co-founder of the International School of Pizza in San Francisco and is a six-time world pizza champion. This past year, Bruno was honored as Winner of the Best Pizza at the Mondial de la Pizza in Paris (the World Pizza Championship). Later this year, Mr. DiFabio to break the Guinness Book of World Records as the fastest pizza maker in the world. He recently appeared on the Today Show and Access Hollywood to demonstrate his speed-making technique live.
