Jersey Mike’s and Yankees create a tasty pitch
Nothing heralds the start of spring quite like a day at the ballpark. This season Jersey Mike’s Subs, as the official sandwich shop of the News York Yankees, are giving customers a chance to see the Bronx Bombers in person.
Jersey Mike’s Subs, known for its fresh sliced/fresh grilled subs, was named the “Official Sub Sandwich Shop of the New York Yankees” last season. The two iconic brands continue the partnership this year and customers to the sandwich shops — with locations in Wilton, Derby, Westport, Fairfield and Norwalk — have a chance to win tickets.
“The Yankees are one of the premier sports franchises in the world and since Jersey Mike’s is a brand that focuses on being a sub above, we think this is a natural partnership,” said Rich Hope, chief marketing officer for Jersey Mike’s Subs.
The designation means that each location will receive game tickets that Jersey Mike’s will use for in-store and on-air sweepstakes on WFAN radio.
Brian O’Hagan, area director for Jersey Mike’s Subs said the partnership with the New York Yankees and ticket giveaways represent what the business is all about. Jersey Mike’s regularly partners with local charities, including community sports teams. On March 30, Connecticut locations participated in Jersey Mike’s National Day of Giving. All proceeds from the day were given directly to local athletic programs and booster clubs.
“It helps spread the word about Jersey Mike’s Subs and what a great product it is,” O’Hagan said of being named the official sandwich of the Yankees. “We really believe if someone tries our product they’ll will be back.”
