Wilton psychologist Ann Reeves will offer a day-long workshop at Sound Center for the Arts and Mindfulness, 31 Hawleyville Road in Newtown, entitled “Earth, Wind, Water, Fire: Re-connect with the Earth through the Elements of Nature” on Saturday, Sept. 19, from 10:30 to 4:30. The fee is $125.
“In our busy, often stressed lives, we can forget the healing benefits of nature that can be as close as our backyard, and we just don’t take the time to re-connect” said Reeves.
“Using the elements of nature as metaphor is familiar and reassuring. In this workshop, I am inviting folks to slow down for a late summer’s day to remember such experiences,” she continued. “Deepening our awareness of the healing gifts of the natural world will help us re-connect with the elements in order to transform stress, feel more alive, and take away practical tools to use going forward.
Participants will incorporate grounding exercises, drumming, breathing, movement, meditation, poetry, and alone time outside to explore the four elements in a deeply personal way.
“The elements of nature can teach us much about grounding, breathing, meditating, and living creatively, and this workshop will offer a time for needed relaxation and deep personal healing,” Reeves said.
Participants should bring lunch; drinks and snacks will be provided. Register online at soundcenterarts.com. Click on workshop description under “Upcoming Events” or call Ann Reeves at 203-451-6208.
