The Schoolhouse at Cannondale's prix fixe meal ranked No. 6 on Spoon University's list of The 50 Best Things to Eat in Fairfield County, Connecticut Before You Die.

Even though the former one-room schoolhouse in Wilton's Cannondale Village has "an amazing brunch" and "delicious" dinners, according to the food website, its Thursday night prix fixe meals are where it's at.

"For those of you who aren’t aware, a prix fixe meal is a full course meal at a set price which includes the chef’s favorites," according to Spoon University.

"At the Schoolhouse, you can get four courses for $48, or $75 with a wine flight. All this makes for the perfect Connecticut dinner."

Chef Tim LaBant and his wife Julie opened The Schoolhouse at Cannondale in 2007. According to its website, the restaurant supports "sustainable Connecticut farms" and strives to use all-natural meats.

Pizza at the Colony Grill in New Canaan took the No. 1 spot in Spoon University's ranking, followed by:

  • The New Canaan Special at Tony's Deli in New Canaan.

  • Tacos at Bodega Taco Bar, which has locations in Darien and Fairfield.

  • Crepes at Meli Melo in Greenwich.

  • Hibachi at Abis Japanese Restaurant in Greenwich.
