Wilton-based pet food company Blue Buffalo is recalling a batch of its Life Protection Formula dog food due to the presence of moisture and mold.

The recall is for 30-pound bags of Blue Buffalo's Life Protection Formula: Fish and Sweet Potato Recipe dog food with the following information:


  • Best by date of April 11, 2017.

  • Batch data: AH 2A 12:08-14:00.


According to dogfoodadvisor.com , Blue Buffalo initiated the voluntary recall on May 31, after excessive moisture and mold was discovered. The recall is limited to a batch of the food that was manufactured during a two-hour period.

Customers are welcome to return the affected product to the place of purchase for a full refund. Questions may be directed to Blue Buffalo's customer service at 855-201-4331 Monday through Friday, between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Eastern Standard Time.
