Wilton-based pet food manufacturer Blue Buffalo is launching a national consumer education campaign to reinforce the importance of regular veterinary care for pet health, well-being, and “enrichment of the human/animal bond.”

The 12-month marketing program, called “Pet Care Starts with Vet Care,” will begin this month by encouraging prospective and current clients at small animal clinics to see their veterinarian for annual checkups and veterinary care.

According to GlobeNewswire, the campaign “will deliver 525 million consumer impressions through national TV advertising on CBS, TNT, A&E and other networks, magazine ads in Women’s Day, Eating Well, Shape and other publications, and social media and targeted email messages.”
