The gala, ROAR with Laughter, will be held at Rolling Hills Country Club on Hurlbutt Street. Tickets are available online at online at www.501auctions.com/ROARwithLaughter. Proceeds will go to support the shelter at 45 South Street in Ridgefield, which has placed more than 5,000 cats and dogs in homes since 2000.
Canine Company is being honored for its long-time support of ROAR’s mission to find loving homes for pets in need. The shelter is also bestowing its 2018 ROAR Community Star Award to Walt Richter of Ridgefield.
Canine Company has been a ROAR supporter since 2011, providing contributions to the operating budget as well as volunteer service by its employees. Additionally, in 2017, the company sent its Mobile Pet Spa to the ROAR shelter to provide makeovers for adoption candidates.
"ROAR’s mission of finding forever families for homeless pets is close to our hearts,” said Jennifer Hill, president and CEO of Canine Company. “As pet lovers ourselves, we are grateful to ROAR’s staff and volunteers for all they do to help animals in need.”
The theme of this year’s gala is The Royal Treatment, which for rescued pets is food, shelter, spaying, neutering, and vaccinations, provided by ROAR. Gala tickets include a buffet dinner, open bar, silent and live auctions, and entertainment by stand-up comedian Johnny Lampert, a regular at New York City and Los Angeles comedy clubs.
The live auction will feature trips to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, Dublin, Ireland, and Nashville for the 2018 Country Music Awards.
The silent auction will be open to anyone who wishes to bid from their smartphone. Bidding will start online on Feb. 14 and end at the gala. Register to bid before Feb. 24 at www.501auctions.com/ROARwithLaughter.
