Students who enjoy creating culinary treats as well as eating them it are invited to participate in baking classes from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. beginning Wednesday, Jan. 29, at Trackside Teen Center, 15 Station Road. Baking 101 is designed to give students in sixth through 12th grade an introduction to the art of baking, as well as a general approach to kitchen safety. Baking 101 will be a four-week series, with classes on Jan. 29, Feb. 5, Feb. 12 and Feb. 26. Taught by Neena Perez, founder of The Kiddie Kitchen, Baking 101 will be broken down into four sections. Students will learn how to create different types of pie dough, make a variety of breads and muffins, prepare different cakes and master different buttercreams and piping techniques to decorate cakes.
