On Jan. 18 Wilton Historical Society will join the nation in celebrating the\u00a0life and achievements of Dr. Marin Luther King Jr., leader of the civil rights movement, in its quest for equal rights and fair treatment for all. King was a fiercely passionate believer in education, earning two bachelor\u2019s degrees and a Ph.D. and in 1964, was the recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize. The historical society will offer a way to mark the day for children with a story-time reading of Martin\u2019s Big Words: The Life of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. by Doreen Rappaport, and a hands-on activity to celebrate his birthday \u2014 making "birds of peace" \u2014 on Monday, Jan. 18, from 11 to noon. Jan. 18 is also the final day of the Great Trains Holiday Exhibit. The activity is free with admission to the train show, open 10 to 4. The Wilton Historical Society is at 224 Danbury Road.
